Theo Peck and Nick Suarez both share a taste for competition. Once rivals in the cut-throat world of competitive cooking, they are now partners in hosting the premier competitions of the circuit: The Brooklyn Food Experiments. What brought this dynamic duo together? Perhaps they recognized a kindred spirit in one another. Or maybe it was their desire to see the competitive food scene reach new heights. The reality, however, is much more simple – Beer.
For months, Nick and Theo (serving spoons in hand) stared across the chafing dish battlefield at each other. As they both started piling up victory after victory, mutual respect and interest grew. Finally Theo made a move. He asked Nick out for a bromantic evening of beer and charred pork belly.
While drinking a gallon of beer, they realized they had much in common. Both learned to cook at their mother’s apron strings, both liked food with plenty of salt and butter, and each thought he cooked better than the other. With one last sip of beer, inspiration hit: The Beer Experiment. The rest is history…
Nick Suarez, 27, is a cook-off fanatic at heart. He enjoys spending whole days in front of his stove and sipping on wine. He is currently attending the French Culinary Institute.

Before Mr. Peck was named “Casserole King,” “Chancellor of Chowder,” “Sultan of S’Mac,” and “Chili Champion,” he was a humble gentleman. He developed his technique in the kitchens of Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Hugo’s in Maine. Theo was quietly living out his days in the village of Brooklyn, when he discovered the world of competitive cooking. Each victory fed his competitive beast. Unsated, he now brings the competition to you! Meanwhile, Theo is planning several different ventures including a pate company, a prepared food shop, and quite possibly a television show.
